Who is WRE?

Washakie Renewable Energy is Utah’s largest producer of clean burning and sustainable biodiesel. Since its inception in 2007, WRE has set itself apart as a leader in the production of advanced biofuels in America. Our biodiesel is ASTM Certified, and produced through environmentally friendly chemical processes using natural products. At WRE we pride ourselves in producing a clean renewable fuel, from sustainable natural products.

What is Biodiesel?

Biodiesel is a liquid fuel that is produced from natural sources, and can be used in any diesel engine. These natural products are known as feedstock’s, they can be any type of oil’s or fats from plants or animals. However the availability of these feedstock's continues to pose a challenge to the entire biodiesel market. To address this issue, WRE has turned its focus towards recycled waste grease. WRE is currently partners with one of the world’s largest grease recycling facilities. Washakie Renewable Energy has in house research labs, creating opportunity to include the latest advancements. All processes and by-products are environmental friendly.

How Does Biodiesel apply to me?

As a leader in the biodiesel industry, Washakie Renewable Energy is committed to the production and distribution of high grade biodiesel. Our commitment to a greener and cleaner environment fuels our production and innovation. Having a regular supply of feedstock at a reasonable price will allow us to produce 10 million gallons of biofuel a year, taking almost 170 million pounds of CO2 out of the atmosphere. In troubling economic times, WRE is a large employer, producing green jobs. As the largest biofuel facility in Utah we are promoting green industry. To help clean up our air, and substantially reduce our dependence on foreign oil, we are producing green energy.
